Happy New Year!!
My goal for 2015 is to get organized and declutter. I feel like I spend time organizing closets just to fill it back up with junk. So instead of just organizing things, I decided it was also time to declutter the house.
I keep seeing ideas and checklists all over Pinterest and Facebook for decluttering your home but they require you to do something every day or once a week. I just can’t commit to doing something every day or week so I came up with a more generic checklist that covers every area in my house that I can do whenever I have time.
I printed out my checklist and put it on the refrigerator. My plan is to start in the kitchen. I’ll be sharing tips and tricks for each area throughout the year to help with the process.
I hope you’ll join me. Print out the checklist HERE and start decluttering your home with me. If you would like a custom checklist, feel free to email me at firstname.lastname@example.org and I can make one for you.
Here are a few tips to get motivated:
1. Set up a system to organizing what you want to keep, give away, and throw away.
You can use boxes, bins, trash bags, etc. Use whatever you’ve got on hand. I love the idea of using collapsible laundry baskets so they can fold up quickly when you aren’t in the organizing mood.
2. Ask yourself these questions:
I need to keep these questions handy to help me stay focused:)
3. Get everyone in your home involved! It has to be a team effort.
