Spread kindness and luck with these awesome Four-Leaf Clover Kindness Rocks. They’re fun to make and even more fun to hide! And, can you guess what we used to make them?
St. Patrick’s Day Kindness Rocks
Today’s project includes three of my favorite things – gold paint, four leaf clovers, and kindness rocks!
We love searching for Kindness Rocks and we like making them too. Connor wanted to make some for St.Patrick’s day so we started by spray painting a few rocks with gold spray paint. We both agreed that finding a gold kindness rock would be cooler than any rock we’ve ever found. But, then we decided that finding a gold rock with a four leaf clover on it would be the best thing ever. It might even be better than finding an actual four leaf clover.
So, guess what we did? We used St.Patrick’s Day temporary tattoos to decorate our gold rocks to make the luckiest Kindness Rocks ever!
Materials needed to make Four Leaf Clover Kindness Rocks:
- Gold spray paint
- St. Patrick’s Day Temporary Tattoos
- Bowl of warm water
- Brush on or spray sealer
- Spray rocks with two coats of gold spray paint.
- Once paint has dried, place temporary tattoo on rocks and wet with wet towel. Press in place for 30 seconds.
- Carefully remove paper backing from tattoo. If the tattoo isn’t sticking to the rock, add more water and press for 15-30 more seconds.
- Paint or spray each rock with sealer.
How to paint Kindness Rocks?
We’ve found the best way to paint kindness rocks is with spray paint and acrylic paint. I like to buy cheap spray paint and lay the rocks out on cardboard. Then I spray paint the top of each rock. Once that paint dries, I flip them over and paint the other side of the rocks. Painting rocks with acrylic paint takes a few coats and tends to be a little messier but is easier for kids. It’s definitely easier to paint one side of the rock first instead of trying to paint the entire rock all at one time.
So, stock up on cheap spray paint and acrylic paint because it’s time to paint some rocks!
This is now one of my favorite projects on the blog! Not only is this a fantastic St. Patrick’s’ Day craft, but I will admit that I would be thrilled to find a gold Kindness Rock decorated with a four leaf clover any day of the year.
Now we’re off to hide these fabulous Kindnes Rocks around our neighborhood. Connor also wants to give one to his teacher so she has lots of luck for the rest of the year.
Happy crafting my friends! I hope I’ve inspired you to make your own lucky kindness rocks.
