Lavender Rosemary Homemade Candles – an easy DIY project that will leave your house smelling amazing. Make a few for yourself and give a few to your favorite people. These wonderfully scented candles make great gifts!
I started making homemade candles a few years ago and it’s become one of my favorite craft projects. Not only are they easy to make but it’s the one DIY project that leaves your house smelling amazing while you’re crafting. Plus, there’s just something warm and cozy about a wonderful smelling candle.
And, these make great gifts!
Make a few for yourself and wrap some up to give to your mom, sister, best friend, teacher – all your favorite people! They will love these calming candles.
Not only are they fun gifts to make but it’s the perfect candle to burn in our homes after a busy day. We all know that lavender is calming and relaxing but I just learned that rosemary helps boost mental energy which I’m sure we can all use.
Supplies need to make your own Lavender Rosemary Candles:
- Soy Candle Making Kit
- Lavender Essential Oil
- Rosemary Essential Oil
- Extra Glass Jars (optional)
- Extra Candle Wicks (optional)
- Wood Craft Sticks
Start by unwrapping the Soy Candle Making Kit. It already has everything needed to make your own candles so this is the perfect starter kitt. Pour the soy wax into the pouring pot. Add a cup of water to a sauce pan and place the pouring pot in the water. Heat over medium heat until the wax has melted – about 5-10 minutes.
Add 15-20 drops of essential oil to melted wax. The amount of essential oil will depend on the amount of wax you melt. I melted all the wax in the kit so I added 10 drops of lavender oil and 10 drops of rosemary oil.
Pour melted wax into jars. Add wick to center of jar. Hold wick in place using the wood craft sticks. Let candles sit for 24 hours.
Trim wicks leaving about half an inch.
Note – 14 ounces of soy wax fills two 8 ounce mason jars.
Oh my goodness! How easy was that?!
Now, it’s time to light my Lavender Rosemary Candle and curl up with a good book – the perfect way to relax. I wish you could smell these candles for yourself. I guess you’ll just have to make your own so you can see and smell what I’m talking about. I promise – you won’t be disappointed!
I really hope I’ve inspired you to make your own homemade candles. Your house will smell great and you’ll have these beautiful candles. What’s not to love about that?!
