We are always having dinner with our friends and family and, of course, we are always taking some kind of sweet treat or appetizer with us so I finally used my Cricut to make a Giving Plate.
Isn’t it the cutest?! I love the idea of passing along a simple gift with the food that we take when invited to someone’s house.
What is a Giving Plate?
Have you heard of the Giving Plate? The Giving Plate is a plate that has no owner. You use it to take food to a friend or family member but you don’t take the plate back. It is then used by that person to take food to someone else. The idea is that the plate circles around to people spreading love and lots of goodies.
This is something that I’ve wanted to make for a few months now and I’m so excited that I finally made one. The only problem is that I need to make more! It’s a good thing that plates are so inexpensive because I want to make one for get-together and party we get invited to.
Supplies needed to Make a Giving Plate
- Blank Plate – I found mine at the dollar store
- Transfer Tape
- Cricut Explore Air 2 or Cricut Maker
- Cricut Cutting Mat
- Weeding Tool
- Giving Plate SVG Cut File – Circle / Square
I also created an SVG cut file for square plates and platters. This way you can make a square giving plate or a circle one – or make two which is what I would recommend. I’m thinking that we can never have too many giving plates.
I hope you love these free cut files as much as I do. And, if you’re looking for more cut files, I’ve got a fabulous collection. Check them out HERE. I’m always adding more so make sure you come back often.
