We love listening to podcasts – especially True Crime Podcasts – and today we’re sharing a few of our favorite podcasts that we’ve enjoyed listening to over the past few weeks.
My husband is obsessed with listening to podcasts. He listens to them on his way to and from work every day and then comes home and tells me which ones I need to listen to. I’ve never been one to listen to podcasts but now he has me hooked.
Favorite True-Crime Podcasts
In the past we’ve found ourselves searching for podcasts to listen to on our long car rides and road trips so I thought it would be fun to start sharing the podcasts that we’re listening to every month. I’m hoping to focus on a different genre every month but we have to start with a few of our favorite True Crime Podcasts. There’s just something about true crime that seems to grab everyone’s attention and, let’s be honest, true crime is intriguing and suspenseful – the perfect way to kill time:)
Two comedians look at a small town, what makes it tick, and a murder that took place there. In depth research, horrible tragedy, and the hosts’ comedic spin on the whole thing. New episodes every Thursday!!
This is our go-to podcast to listen to while driving. The episodes are long making them perfect for long car rides. I love that they mix humor with crime. I will say the language can get a little bad especially for kids. We just make sure they have their headphones on while watching their own movie.
Sword and Scale, which debuted in 2013, covers the underworld of criminal activity and the demented minds that perform the most despicable and unthinkable actions.
This is another favorite podcast. I especially like how they include audio from police interrogations. These podcasts are around an hour long so they are great for shorter commutes or we just listen to three in a row on our trips to Maryland.
Season 1 of Up and Vanished explored the 2005 disappearance of beauty queen and high school teacher Tara Grinstead from her home in Ocilla, Georgia. The cold case was the largest case file in the Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s history, with no arrests in 11 years. The podcast quickly drew attention, both in South Georgia and nationwide. Reviewing old leads and uncovering new ones, Up and Vanished quickly expanded from a planned six-episode season to a final count of 24 episodes with numerous bonus episodes.
We could not stop listening to this podcast and it was so hard not to google what happened but we controlled ourselves. I highly recommend this podcast and I can’t wait to listen to season 2.
Money. Romance. Tragedy. Deception. The story of Elizabeth Holmes and Theranos is an unbelievable tale of ambition and fame gone terribly wrong. How did the world’s youngest self-made female billionaire lose it all in the blink of an eye?
This might be one of the craziest stories I’ve ever heard. Hubby and I were both intrigued by this story and we could not stop listening.
Do you have a favorite True Crime Podcast? We’d love to know what you are listening to right now.
