DIY Patriotic Tic Tac Toe Game

This Patriotic Tic Tac Toe is the perfect summer game!  Take it outside or play inside – either way, you’ll have a blast.

There are two things I love about this time of year – spending time outside with my family and all things red, white, and blue.  I’m also a sucker for patriotic crafts. I’m sure it has something to do with 4th of July being my favorite holiday. I also LOVE a fun game so I’m excited to share this fun 4th of July DIY tic tac toe board game. Not only is this game festive but it’s the perfect summer game to have on your patio or deck on a warm day.

Do you know what makes this game so fun? It’s portable and a classic game that people of all ages love to play. It can be played inside or taken outside. You can play it on the table or on the floor. Plus, let’s be honest, who doesn’t love to play tic tac toe?!

I can guarantee that everyone who sees this patriotic tic tac toe board will immediately want to play.

Supplies needed to make your own DIY tic tac toe game:

• Large Round Wood Slice
• Birch Wood Slices (10-12 slices)
• Red Paint
• White Paint
• Blue Paint
• Paint Brushes
• Star Stencil
• Navy Blue Washi Tape

Use the blue washi tape to create the tic tac toe grid on the large round board. Wasn’t that easy? This is the easiest way to create a tic tac toe grid. No need to draw any lines or measure. Just tear off 4 pieces of washi tape.

Paint 5 wood slices blue and let dry. Use the star stencil to paint a white star in the center of each wood slice. Let paint dry.

Paint 5 wood slices white. Add small pieces of washi tape across the wood slices to create lines. Paint red stripes on each wood slice. Let paint dry.

That’s it. Now you’re ready to play tic tac toe.
