DIY Dollar Store Mug Candles – Turn dollar store mugs into the cutest candles ever! An easy and inexpensive gift. Make sure you make a few so you can keep one for yourself.
I just made the cutest candles and I’m so excited to share them with you. I was shopping at the dollar store a few weeks ago and stumbled across the cutest mugs. The only problem is – I don’t need anymore mugs. My mug collection is getting out of control and I definitely didn’t need any more Christmas mugs but they were just too cute not to put in my cart. The dollar store gets me every time. I go in for one thing and leave with twenty.
Please tell me I’m not the only one!
Well, I didn’t need a mug but I did need some new holiday candles and I needed a few hostess gifts so I turned these adorable mugs into candles. I’m so in love with these mugs and I’m LOVING these candles. And, guess what? They smell great too because I used snickerdoodle candle fragrance. Now my house smells great and I have the cutest candle sitting on my entryway table.
Supplies needed to make Dollar Store Mug Candles:
- Dollar Store Mugs
- Soy Candle Wax
- Candle Wicks
- Candle Fragrance Oil (I used snickerdoodle)
- Popsicle sticks
- Double Boiler or Candle Making Pouring Pot
Step 1: Bring 2-3 ups of water to a boil in medium pot. Add 2 cups of soy wax to pouring pot or metal bowl and place over heat.
Step 2: Place candle wicks in the center of each mug. Once wax has melted add 15-20 drops of fragrance oil, pour into mug. Center wick using popsicle sticks. Let wax set for at least 24 hours.
Step 3: Trim wick and you’re ready to light your candles.
Wow! Wasn’t that easy?
Did you know it was this easy to make your own candles?
Now head to the dollar store and stock up on cute holiday mugs so you can make these DIY Dollar Store Mug Candles.
Happy crafting my friends! I hope I’ve inspired you to make your own Christmas candles.
