DIY Diaper Caddies

I’m so excited about today’s craft project because it has been such a lifesaver!   After I got home from the hospital with Easton, my mom helped me put together these adorable DIY Diaper Caddies and I use them every single day.  Plus, we were able to upcycle old boxes which makes this craft project even better.

I would probably go crazy without them. That’s how much I rely on them daily.  Plus, it keeps things organized and in a specific place so when I need something for Easton, I know exactly where to find it.

And they are aren’t hard to put together either.  Turn some old boxes into these fabulous diaper caddies with supplies you probably have already.

Materials needed:

• shoe box (I used old photo boxes I had in my closet)
• scrapbook paper
• scissors
• Mod Podge
• paint brush
• gold brads
• old leather belt or leather fabric
• X-Acto knife

Now for the fun part.  These diaper caddies may seem like a lot of work but it only takes 2 steps to make them.  The longest part is waiting for the Mod Podge to dry.

First, cut scrapbook paper in strips to cover box.  I covered the long sides first and then the smaller sides.  Adhere paper to box using Mod Podge and paint brush.

Once the Mod Podge has dried, cut leather into 1 inch by 6 inch strips (this might vary depending on the size of your box).  Poke holes in leather and box using an X-Acto knife.  Attach leather handles to box using the gold brads.

You could really just add the scrapbook paper to the box and call it a day but I love the leather handle.  It only took about 5 minutes to add the handle and it makes it much easier to pick up and move around.

Finally, fill diaper caddy with all your baby essentials.  Mine is full of HUGGIES® diapers, wipes, lotion, diaper cream, hand sanitizer, birp cloths and books.

I keep one on my nightstand, downstairs on our end table and one in Easton’s bedroom.  I even put one together for the car just in case of an emergency.  I can not tell you how handy these diaper caddies are and I love that it didn’t cost a lot of money to create.
