We always make sure to have bourbon slush at every party and I’ll tell you one thing – there is never any left at the end of the night. It’s a great cocktail on a hot summer day and it’s perfect for every occasion.

  • Tea bags – I recommend using a simple black tea or your favorite tea for making iced tea and homemade sweet tea.
  • Water – You will be using boiled water and room temperature water for this recipe.
  • Sugar – white sugar is best for this recipe
  • 1 can of frozen orange juice concentrate – let thaw before adding.
  • 1 can of frozen lemonade concentrate – thawed also.
  • Bourbon – Any type of bourbon will work.  I recommend using an inexpensive brand.

How to Make the Best Bourbon Slush

  1. Start by boiling 2 cups of water. Steep tea bags in boiling water for 3 minutes. Remove tea bags and stir in sugar.  
  2. Add hot tea, orange juice, lemonade, bourbon and additional water to large freezer-safe container. Stir until well combined.
  3. Cover container with tight-fitting lid and place in freezer until it reaches the perfect slushy texture.
  4. When ready to serve, use a large spoon or ice cream scooper to scoop frozen drink into serving glasses.
