It’s been an exciting week around here.  We had our second snow storm which is a big deal around here so schools have been closed for a few days.  Woohoo!  I love snow days!!

So, while we were grocery shopping at Walmart and getting ready for the snow, we picked up our copy of Big Hero 6.  Connor has been counting down the day until Big Hero 6 was released on DVD and it came out at the perfect time. Being snowed in is the prefect excuse to cuddle up on the sofa and watch a movie.

Big Hero 6 Whoopie Pies

And since we were snowed in, I thought it would be fun to make Baymax Whoopie Pies.  This was my fist time making whoopie pies and I have to admit that I was a little nervous.  I was afraid that they wouldn’t be round or fluffy but they turned out great!  I decided to make vanilla pies with chocolate icing so I could decorate them.

Ingredients:

  • 1 box super moist white cake mix
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 3 eggs
  • chocolate icing
  • black decorating icing

Directions:

Step 1:  Heat oven to 400 degrees.  Lightly spray cookie sheet or line with parchment paper.

Step 2:  Add cake mix, oil, water, and eggs to bowl.  Mix until well blended.

Step 3:  Spoon about 2 tablespoons of the batter for each cookie, leaving a few inches between each.

Step 4:  Bake for 7-9 minutes.  Remove from oven and transfer to cooling rack.

Step 5:  Once cookies are completely cool,  add icing to bottom of one cookie and place another cookie on top to form a sandwich.

Step 6:  To make them look like Baymax, I added black icing to the top.  I’m so glad Baymax is so easy to create:)

Step 7:  Admire your whoopie pies and enjoy!

Big Hero 6 Popcorn Cups

You can’t watch a movie without popcorn so I took some white styrofoam cups and a black sharpie to make Baymax popcorn cups.

We had a Big Hero 6 movie night right in the comfort of our living and it was perfect for a cold, snowy night!!

Big Hero 6 Toy

I also ordered Connor a fun Big Here 6 toy from Walmart.com to celebrate the movie’s release.  I ordered this mask and fist toy that he loves!

And guess what?  The Big Hero 6 Blu-Ray/DVD + Gift with Purchase set includes a digital movie on Vudu while supplies last.
