Give your teacher the gift of smooth skin with this fabulous Homemade Apple Sugar Scrub.  A fun back-to-school teacher gift idea for all the hardworking teachers!  It’s also the perfect fall sugar scrub.

I love sugar scrubs and I LOVE creating teacher gifts for all the fabulous teachers out there so today’s easy craft project extra is extra fun!  Oh, and it also includes mason jars – it doesn’t get better than that.

But, this isn’t just any sugar scrub.  It’s an Apple Sugar Scrub.  A sugar scrub with apple scented oil and colored with red food coloring.  Don’t worry.  The red coloring won’t turn your skin red.  I can tell you that this is the perfect teacher gift and a fun fall sugar scrub to have in your bathroom.  I highly recommend making a double or triple batch because it’s a great gift and you need to keep a jar for yourself.

Homemade Apple Sugar Scrub

  • 2 cups of sugar
  • 4-6 tablespoons oil (melted coconut oil, almond oil, or olive oil)
  • 10-15 drops apple fragrance oil
  • red food coloring (optional)

Add sugar to medium bowl.  Slowly add in oil 1 tablespoon at a time and stir with a spoon.  You don’t want the sugar mixture to be too wet.  If you accidentally add too much oil, just add a little extra sugar.

Next, add a few drops of red food coloring to the sugar mixture and ix until color is consistent.  I only recommend adding 2-3 drops of food coloring.  A little goes a long way.  This step is optional but I think it makes it a little more festive especially for a teacher’s gift.

Then, add in the essential oil and mix well.

Once your sugar scrub is prepared, scoop into small mason jars.  Screw on the lid and add a pretty bow for a fun back-to-school teacher gift.

How to use a sugar scrub:

  • Use on hands and body up to three times a week.
  • Gently massage in a circular motion and rinse off with lukewarm water.
  • Homemade sugar scrubs are great for people with sensitive skin like me because it’s pretty much just sugar and coconut oil.
  • Sugar scrubs will last up to three weeks in an airtight container.
