Edible Peanut Butter Chocolate Cookie Dough

We had friends over for the Super Bowl on Sunday and I wanted an easy no bake dessert that I knew everyone would love.  At the last minute I whipped up a bowl of edible cookie dough and handed everyone a spoon and guess what? We all just dug right in.  Pretty sure this is the best thing ever.  Everyone loved it and we killed the entire bowl.

If you love cookie dough as much as I do then you are going to love this easy recipe.  I added peanut butter chips and chocolate chips but you could easily add any of your favorite candy toppings.  Next time I’m going to make it with M&Ms and peanuts. Doesn’t that sound delicious?

Quick Tips to Make Peanut Butter and Chocolate Edible Cookie Dough

You’ll see that the first step in the recipe calls for microwaving the flour.  I read a lot of Edible Cookie Dough recipe reviews and found out that it’s not good to eat raw flour in cookie dough.  Microwaving the flour and making sure it reaches 160 degrees kills any bacteria that might be in the flour.

Is Edible Cookie Dough safe to eat?  Of course!  No eggs and the flour is heated to kill any bacteria so we are ready to enjoy our sweet treat.

A batch of edible cookie dough will last 3 days in the refrigerator.

Swap out the peanut butter chips for two full cups of chocolate chips and omit the peanut butter for people with allergies.
