Is it really May already?  Is it me or did April just seem to fly by?  This time of year always seems to be crazy.  We have baseball practice during the week and games on the weekend.  We’ve also been busy doing projects around the house.  We’re also planning a weekend to visit family in Maryland for Mother’s Day which means it’s time to think about gift ideas.

I love a great DIY project and you all know I love making homemade gifts.  I’ve been wanting to make bath bombs for months so I decided with Mother’s Day right around the corner, now was the perfect time.  My mom LOVES roses so I thought it would be fun to make her Rose Bath Bombs.

How great does a relaxing bath sound?!  These bath bombs are made with dried rose petals, essential oil, Epsom salt, citric acid, and baking soda.  After making my first batch of bath bombs, I realized that my aunt needed some too.

This might be the easiest homemade gift to make for all your favorite people.  And, you might as well make a few for yourself too because everyone deserves to take a break and enjoy a hot bath.

So, let’s make some bath bombs!

Supplies needed to make Heart Rose Bath Bombs:

• 1 cup baking soda
• 1/2 cup citric acid
• 1/2 cup Epsom salt
• 1 teaspoon water
• 2 teaspoons essential oil (rose, vanilla, or lavender)
• 3 teaspoons oil (coconut, olive, or almond)
• 1 cup dried rose petals
• bowl
• wisk
• spray bottle
• bath bomb molds or ice cube tray

Step 1: Sprinkle dried rose petals in bottom of mold/tray.

Step 2:  Add dry ingredients to bowl and whisk together.  Add a handful of dried rose petals to and mix ingredients together.

Step 3:  Add wet ingredient in spray bottle.

Step 4:  Gradually spray dry mixture with spray bottle while mixing everything together.  At this point it’s just easier to mix with your hands.  Keep spraying until mixture clumps together and feels like sand.

Step 5:  Spoon mixture into molds and pack tightly.  Let dry for 8-10 hours.  Remove from molds.  Store in airtight container until ready to use.

To make the perfect gift, place bath bombs in plastic bag and wrap with tissue paper and place inside a fun gift bag.
