Bacon Cheddar Apple Dip – the perfect combination of sweet and savory in a creamy dip.

Bacon Cheddar Apple Dip

Not only is it the first week of fall but it’s also football season which is a big deal in our house.  Hubby LOVES watching his Giants play and he also invites all of our neighbors over to watch the game with him.  Sunday is game day around here so I’m always prepared with appetizers for everyone to munch on.

Bacon Cheddar Apple Dip

Last week I made the most delicious dip that is both sweet and savory.  One of my favorite snacks is sliced apples with cheddar cheese on crackers so I decided to create a creamy dip that combined all that plus more.  I originally came across a recipe that included cheddar cheese and apples.  I then decided that the recipe would be better if it included bacon.  We all know everything tastes better with bacon.  And since it includes apples, Greek yogurt, and turkey bacon, I feel like it might actually be a little healthy.

This Bacon Cheddar Apple Dip recipe is perfect for fall and it’s easy to make.  I also like that it doesn’t require a lot of ingredients.  I divided the recipe and baked it in two smaller dishes because my neighbor is allergic to nuts.    It would probably be a great slow cooker recipe too.  You could just dump everything in the slow cooker and it would be just as good.
