Do you know anyone suffering from a cold, sore throat or even the flu?  The cold has just finished going around our house and now a few of my friends and neighbors have been home sick.  I thought it would nice to put together a cute little Get Well Soon Gift in a Jar for my awesome friends to let them know I’m thinking of them and hope they feel better soon.

I’m sure you all can tell by now that I love cute gifts in a jar and this is the perfect little gift to give to your friends and family when they aren’t feeling well.  And cute jars always make the gift look so much better.  I found this jar Michael’s and decided to paint the lid gold because I’m also obsessed with gold right now.  This jar actually combines 3 of my favorite things – jars, gold, and watercolor printables.  I’m really loving the gold tape I found.

This jar includes everything someone might need when suffering from a cold and nasty cough.

First I added Chloraseptic Spray® because that is the only product I’ve found that truly relieves the pain of a sore throat.  Then, I added a pack of tissue, chapstick, hand sanitizer, a pack of chicken noodle soup, and a few tea bags.  I also included a handful of candy just because candy always makes everyone feel better.

With cold and the flu season comes runny noses and coughs that make throats raw and sore. And here are Chloraseptic® Pharmacist Maria Mantione’s Tips for Cough & Cold Season:

  • Wash your hands often. Washing your hands with soap and water is the best way to prevent the spread of the common cold.
  • Make sure to get enough sleep, eat a balanced, nutritious diet, exercise, and minimize stress.  Prevent illness by practicing healthy habits.
  • If you do get sick, talk to your pharmacist about how to manage your symptoms with medications. Before cold season, stock your medicine cabinet with the essentials. Stick to single ingredient products, so you have you what you need to treat your specific symptoms. These include pain relievers and fever reducers, a decongestant, cough medicine, lozenges and a sore throat spray. Topical medications, like Chloraseptic sore throat sprays and lozenges are great to have on hand because they are portable, can be used safely with other cold medicines, and have very few side effects.
  • Get your flu shot! The CDC recommends a flu shot for everyone over the age of 6 months. It is easy to get – just talk to your pharmacist. Its the BEST way to prevent the spread of the flu. It does NOT prevent the common cold, but the flu is a devastating, serious illness that could put you out of commission for a week or more, or even worse, land you in the hospital with pneumonia or infect someone you love with a weaker immune system – like babies, the elderly, or those undergoing chemotherapy.
