I’ve got another easy jewelry tutorial for you today.  If you’ve never made your own earrings before, these would be the prefect pair to start with.

I was looking through my sweaters over the weekend and realized that I have a lot of pink and teal.  I especially have a lot of dark pink sweaters from The Loft that I love wearing.  So I decided I needed a new pair of pink and teal beaded earrings to match all my favorite sweaters.  Plus these colors are sure to brighten up any cold, dreary day!

Supplies needed:

  • 4 small beads
  • 2 larger beads
  • headpins
  • 2 earring hooks
  • round nose pliers

Step 1:  Thread your larger beads onto two seperate headpins.  Create a loop by bending the wire right after the bead at a 90 degree angle.  Cut excess wire leaving about a 1/4 inch of wire.  Grab the end of the wire with your round nose pliers and bend into a circle.

Step 2:  Cut end off of two head pins using your pliers.  Create a loop using your round nose pliers.  Thread a small bead on the wire.  Create another loop.  Repeat using left over wire for your three other small beads.

Step 3:  Attach large bead and small beads to the earring hook.  Repeat for second earring.

Rebecca from My Girlish Whims has a great tutorial for creating loops if you need to see a visual.

I promise that these are super easy to make and you will love wearing them.

What color beads would you use if you made these earrings?  I’m thinking I need a pair of red and teal earrings.
