The warm weather reminded me that I needed something bright and sunny on my front door.  I had taken my winter wreath down a few months ago and my front door was looking a little bare.  So, I did was what every crafty girl does – I headed to Hobby Lobby to see what fun things I could find.  I’m not really a huge fan of silk flowers so I usually look for berry cluster stems.  After adding a few of those to my cart, I came across the small flowers that complimented the yellow berry stems and knew I needed to add them to my wreath.

This is the easiest wreath to make because all you have to do is cut the flowers into smaller sections and tuck them into the grapevine wreath.  Continue to tuck them around the wreath until it’s completely covered.  Then, cut the flower stems so they’re around 5 inches and add them around the wreath.  That’s it.  No gluing is even required for this wreath making it the easiest wreath ever!

But, I couldn’t just stop there.  I had a scrap piece of wood in the garage so I decided to make a cute wooden welcome sign for my new Bright and Sunny Wreath.

Want to make one for your door?

Materials needed:

  • grape vine wreath
  • yellow berry stems
  • small yellow flowers
  • piece of 1 x4 – 15 inches long
  • wood stain
  • Cricut Explore Air 2
  • vinyl
  • Cricut transfer vinyl
  • white paint
  • drill and small drill bit
  • jute rope

Directions:

Step 1:  Cut your flower stems and tuck them around the grapevine wreath.

Step 2:  Add your small yellow flowers around the wreath.

Step 3:  Stain your piece of wood.  While the stain dries, yse your handy dandy Cricut to cut out your vinyl welcome stencil.

Step 4:  Weed out the word welcome from the vinyl to create you stencil.  Use the transfer vinyl to adhere your stencil to the wood.  Paint your welcome sign.

Step 5:  Drill two holes in the wood sign and use the jute to hang with your wreath.

Now, step back and admire your bright and sunny wreath!
