Together we make a change

Now that Connor is old enough to really understand the importance of helping others, my goal is to get us both involved in volunteer work within our community. Connor joined Boy Scouts this year and I love that they’ve worked together to help support Toys for Tots and Operation Christmas Child. And I feel there is so much more our family can do to help others.

I’ve always wanted to get involved with volunteer work but I’ve never known where to even look for the different opportunities in my area. But now I’ve solved that problem because I recently discovered Create the Good. Create the Good makes it easy to find ways to volunteer right in your own community. And guess what? Most of the volunteer opportunities are flexible and can be done whenever your schedule allows it.

And there’s more!

Create the Good Dream Builder Video Contest

Create the Good launched the Dream Builder’s Video Contest as an opportunity for anyone who wants to help others. If you have ideas about helping those around you, or have a cause you have wanted to support, this is the perfect opportunity to do so.

Dream Builders Video Contest

Submit your video about your vision for bettering your community by 2/7/2016 and you could win a $2,500 donation to the charity of your choice. Your video should show your dream for helping others, and the specific charity you would partner with in order to accomplish that dream.

The public will vote on which of 12 selected finalist videos inspires them most. The winning video will receive a $2,500 charity donation and three runner up videos will win a $500 donation to the non-profit cited in their video as the charity of their choice.

This is your chance to give back as well as inspire others to do the same.

No act of kindness is ever wasted!

And to get us started with helping more people around us, I sat down last night with Connor and we created a list of over 20 FREE Random Acts of Kindness that we want to start doing. Yep – you read that right. They don’t cost any money and they are easy enough that your kids can get involved with you.
