Not only do these Chocolate Pecan Pie Bars taste amazing but your house will smell so good while they are baking in the oven.  First of all, let me just ask – what’s not to love about an easy dessert bar recipe that combines shortbread with chocolate and pecans?  And, let me just tell you, the shortbread crust pairs perfectly with the chocolate and pecans.

How to make Chocolate Pecan Pie Bars

These soft and chewy bars are so easy to make.  Just mix the softened butter, brown sugar, salt and flour in medium bowl.  Spread in prepared pan and bake for 25 minutes to make the delicious shortbread crust.  Once that cools, it’s time to add the chocolate pecan filling.  In medium bowl, beat eggs, sugar, melted butter, corn syrup and honey.  Fold in pecans and chocolate chips.  Pour mixture over warm crust and spread evenly.  And, 30 minutes later, these delicious dessert bars are ready.  I do recommend waiting for them to cool before cutting so they don’t fall apart but it might be hard to wait that long.

I’ve never made a Pecan Pie before and now I probably never will because these bars taste better than any pecan pie I’ve ever tasted.  I could seriously eat the entire pan!
