I can’t believe Halloween is Friday!

This month has flown by and I’m still finishing a few Halloween projects.  Today I’m sharing this adorable Bat Vase I made with a popcorn box.

Bat Vase

I’m so excited to be joining my friend Laura again this year with her Popcorn Box Halloween Blog Hop.  She has challenged a group of us to upcycle a popcorn box into something Halloween related.

Last year I made a spider popcorn box but this year I went in a different direction with my popcorn box.

I love having fresh flowers around the house so this year I decided to turn my popcorn box into a Bat Vase.  And I must admit – it turned out so much better than I thought it would.

I was so excited about this project that I didn’t take pictures of the steps but it’s pretty easy to figure out.

Materials needed:

  • Popcorn box
  • Purple foam craft sheet
  • Google eyes
  • Yellow foam craft sheet
  • Black foam craft sheet
  • Double sided tape

Step 1:  Trace outline of each side of the box on purple foam and cut out the pieces. Tape each piece on popcorn box.

Step 2:  Cut out two yellow circles for eyes and adhere to front using the tape.

Step 3:  Add googly eyes to yellow circles.

Step 4:  Cut out bat wings using black foam. Cut slits on each side of box and insert wings. Adhere with tape.

Step 5:  Cut small black triangles using left over black foam and attach to top of box.

Step 6:  Add small cup inside box and add flowers.

So, what do you think?

I’m really loving how it turned out.

Now, you need to check out all the other Halloween popcorn boxes.
