Shark Tooth Necklace

Connor loves sharks.  We only live about 2 miles from the Virginia Aquarium and that is his favorite exhibit.  The last time we were there we bought a few shark teeth and the other day Connor asked if I could make him a Shark Tooth Necklace.  I pulled out some wax string that I already had and within 5 minutes had a Shark Tooth Necklace for Connor.

And since it’s Shark week, I figured this was the perfect time to share this easy Shark Tooth Necklace tutorial.

Materials needed:

  • shark tooth
  • waxed thread (you can probably use any kind of string)

Step 1:  Take your piece of sting and wrap it around the front of the shark tooth and bring the ends of the string together.  Bring the two pieces of string through the loop behind the tooth and tighten.

Step 2:  Thread the string back around the one side of the string so that it’s tight.

Step 3:  Take each piece of string and tie a knot at the base of the tooth.

Step 4:  Tie a knot at the end of the string.

Let me know if you have any questions.  If you can’t find any shark teeth in your area, I found a great tutorial for making shark teeth out of clay HERE.
