Do you believe the saying – “Find a penny, pick it up and all day long you’ll have good luck?  I do and I also believe that the penny has to be heads-up to be good luck.

And I must admit that I still get happy when I find a penny that is heads-up so today’s craft was a lot of fun to make.

My niece came to stay with us for a week this summer and together we all made these lucky pennies to pass out to people.

Share a Little Luck

We used stuff I already had around the house so that made it even better.  I’m sure you can figure out what we did but here are the simple directions.  And even if you don’t have magazines or letters, you can always just write a little saying with markers.

Materials needed:

  • cardstock
  • old magazines and/or letter stickers
  • pennies
  • glue

Directions:

  • Cut cardstock into small squares.
  • Cut letters out from old magazines or use letter stickers to spell out little sayings and glue to cardstock
  • Glue a penny to each one.

Once we finished making them, we went out to run errands and left them for people to find.  We left a few on cars and we left a few on the store shelves.

I never knew how much fun it would be to share a little luck with someone until we made these and passed them out together.
