First of all, can you ever have too much chevron in your house?

I finished my Family Command Center a few weeks ago and wanted to share the Chevron Magnetic Board I created.  Not only was it easy to make but it only requires a few materials.

DIY Chevron Magnetic Board

Materials needed:

  • Picture frame
  • Sheet metal
  • white spray paint
  • gray paint
  • FrogTape Chevron Shape Tape
  • Paint brush

Step 1:  The first step is to get your frame ready so you know what size to cut your sheet metal.  I needed a long, skinny frame since the wall in my kitchen isn’t that big.  I ended up using a 3 photo collage frame that I had in my garage but you can find them all over the place.

Step 2:  Cut the sheet metal so it fits inside your frame.  I purchased mine at Home Depot in the aisle where the vent covers are located.  After cutting, I spray painted it white.

Step 3:  Then I covered the sheet metal with the Chevron FrogTape Shape Tape.  This stuff is awesome!!  I covered the entire piece of metal in rows of the chevron tape and then removed every other piece so it was evenly spaced out.

Step 4:  Paint with gray paint.

Step 5:  Once the gray paint dries, remove all tape from sheet metal.

Step 6:  Add the metal toyour  frame and you are finished.  Hang and admire your awesome new Chevron Magnetic Board.
