A little about me... I'm an Oklahoma girl who grew up wanting to be on Broadway but by the time I hit college I decided the medical field was the way to go. I have been a nurse in the Cardiac Cath Lab for over a year and a half now and I love my job. I'm part of the team that opens up those nasty blockages in the arteries that feed your heart. If someone's having a heart attack, they come to us! It's an amazing feeling to know you are actively saving a life. And I love the adrenaline rush!
I started Inside My Present during a blizzard in January 2011 (yes, in Oklahoma!) because I needed something to motivate me. A blog can be more than just a way to share interesting things, it can be that thing that gives you purpose when you need it most. I was going strong until the summer, then life got crazy. I tried to pick it back up, but it wasn't until April of this year when I moved to Maryland that I came back at full speed!

I had a real "ah ha!" moment with this one. I wanted a panini (cold sandwiches are boring!) but didn't have a press. The waffle iron was the perfect solution and worked like a charm!
This was a lot of fun! I had always wanted to try making my own pasta and found it's really easy and tasty. Highly recommended!
That is a big crocodile. I love this post because it captures such an amazing experience- a river tour in Costa Rica FULL of wild monkeys, crocs... you name it. I love sharing experiences like this with my readers when I can!
