I want to start by saying a huge thank you to Kara! I love Happy Go Lucky and I'm excited for the chance to hang out with you guys today and introduce myself!
I got married about six months ago to my wonderful husband JonMarke, so now I'm learning (trial-by-fire style) how different married-life-with-two-cats is from single-living-in-a-college-dorm. Hint, it's very different, but I'm really enjoying it!
I am finding that I enjoy a lot of domestic things much more than I used to. I like to cook and I've recently rediscovered my love of crafting. I love to organize everything: our home, our finances, our day-to-day lives. I love anything and everything DIY. I'm clearly no expert at any of this, but I'm organized, practical, slightly domestic, and super optimistic, so I've got a good feeling about it. :-)
I started this blog in February of 2012 to share some of my experiences with all of my eclectic interests, and also to help me de-stress from my full-time IT job. I love crafting etc. and then blogging about it; it's fun and it relieves stress, and hopefully inspire others in the process!
If you want to get a feel for the local color at Practically Functional, here are a few of my favorite posts to get you started.
DIY: Make Your Own Chalkboard Paint
With just two ingredients you can make your own chalkboard paint in any color! I was excited to find this out because it isn't the cheapest paint to buy. I painted the lids of a few jars in our kitchen so that we could label them (and re-label them, if needed!)Bacon-Wrapped Dates
These are my FAVORITE appetizers of all time! They are so delicious and easy to make. My husband almost got punched by a friend of our back in college for stealing the last one of these off the plate, no joke! :-)DIY: Relaxing Detox Bath Recipe
My job is a bit stressful sometimes, so every once in a while I love to de-stress, relax, and just chill out with this simple detox bath. I guess everyone else likes to relax as well, because this has been my most popular post so far!
I also just started an indoor herb garden in our kitchen, and it's doing pretty well. I'm sharing tips and tricks in a series starting with my post about Starting An Indoor Herb Garden. If your thumb is a little more black than green, check it out!
I hope you enjoyed this intro, and thanks again to Kara for having me as a guest! I'm going to keep crafting, cooking, organizing (the list goes on and on) over at Practically Functional and I'd love for you to join me!
Thank you Jessi for being my guest today!! Your blog is fabulous!

I enjoyed reading the posts and signed up to her blog. thank you both
