Hi everyone! I'm Julie and I have 3 little girls and 2 boys. One of my girls, Aria (4), saw this beautiful wooden kitchen in a magazine and circled it and all the accessories and put her name on it half a dozen times! I think mama loved the kitchen equally well so I decided to get it! I knew the perfect place for it! The girls have a sitting area connected to their bedroom that collected junk and knick knacks. I did an Extreme Makeover on Christmas Eve so they could wake up to a new room. (In order to make this work, we put our guests Auntie and Uncle, in their room for the weekend). I used Pinterest as my source of inspiration and gathering of great ideas. When I saw that there was a Challenge, I HAD to participate! Thanks for hosting!
And this is the room after the extreme makeover with the new kitchen corner, tree decal, painted bench, and paper lanterns all inspired from Pinterest.

Now a reading nook and dollhouse corner!
I saw where someone put paper flowers on their wall decal, so I put some on there as well. They were made with scrapbook paper and little sticker jewels in the middle to add sparkle!
The American Girl dolls were sorely neglected because their clothes were bundled up in some bag and their boxes were the cribs. I saw this idea on Pinterest and made the hangers out of craft sticks and transformed a bookcase into a little doll nook.
They had tons of dress up clothes but stuffed into unsightly plastic bins. I hung them up outside the room and inside their walk in closet. I added sparkly curtains to the inside of the door that can be drawn back and an eclectic mix of hooks that were on clearance. Now all they need is the curtain call! Inside their closet.
I have some *very* happy little girls!
I found the cubbies on clearance and painted them. They will be decoupaged in the back of the cubbies with scrapbook paper (matching the flowers) but Christmas Eve was starting to get really, really long (I painted the bench, 2 chairs, little table, cubbies that night!) so I just had to make do. Flowers on the wall and I painted the Bon Appetit sign.
I painted this sign for the kitchen:If you find something that has a fabulous font and you want to paint it, blow it up, use a soft pencil or chalk on the back of the copy and lay it over your background. Trace the letters on top and remove the paper. Voila! The letters transfer on to the background ready for you to paint!
Isn't this a dream playroom?! I wish I had a room like this for myself. Thank you so much Julie for sharing this fabulous extreme room makeover.
