Pinterest Inspired Jewelry

I was in the mood to make some new fall jewelry so I turned to Pinterest for some inspiration.

After pinning a few inspiration pieces, I headed out to get my supplies.
The first necklace I made was inspired from this pin.  I started to get the supplies to paint the wooden beads until I came across a Christmas garland.  I quickly realized that I could take the garland apart and use the beads to make a necklace.  I also decide to use suede cording instead of ribbon to try something different.
The next necklace I made was inspired from this pin.  I love the idea of using an old necklace but I also loved the glass beads so I bought some at Michael's and made my own necklace.  I also used chain instead of ribbon.
I fell in love with this necklace as soon as I saw it and the best part was I had all the supplies needed to make it.  I had extra chains from other projects and I had leftover velvet ribbon that was just waiting to be made into a fabulous necklace.  This is a super easy necklace to make and looks really good on.  I highly recommend making this necklace.

So what jewelry have you made lately?

Fun and Inspirational Printables

Who doesn't love all the free printables people share in blogland?

I know I do!

I also love creating and sharing them.  So today I took one of my favorite quotes and created this printable to frame and put on my bookshelf.
Download HERE
I think it will look great in a red frame or maybe even a pretty turquoise.  I'm going to have to go to my local thrift store tomorrow to find a funky new picture frame.

Here are a few other fabulous printables that I recently found:
The Letter 4 shares this fantastic fall printable.  I love the frame too!

Francesca shares this amazing printable on her blog Idea Obscura

I would love for you to link up any printables you've posted on your blog.  I'm hoping to create a showcase of ideas so everyone can share their fabulous creations.  If you are interested in having one of your favorite projects featured, please email me.

Salted Caramel Mocha Bites

My favorite drink at Starbucks right now is the salted caramel mocha.  I love the combination of sweet and salty.

And since I can't go to Starbucks everyday because I'm too cheap, I had to come up with something similar to satisfy my cravings.
When I came across caramel Hershey kisses at Target, I decided to make pretzel kisses with them.

The best part about this easy recipe is that Connor and I could do it together.  Connor was so excited to be my little helper and unwrap the Hershey kisses; probably because he could sneak a few when I wasn't looking!!
These were so easy to make and only require 3 ingredients:
  • Small pretzels
  • Caramel Hershey kisses
  • M&M's
Heat oven to 200 degrees.  Spread pretzels out on cookie sheet.  Place a Hershey kiss on each pretzel.  Bake for 3 minutes.  Remove from oven and immediately press an M&M on top of each kiss.  Let cool.
Then pop a few in your mouth because you won't be able to each just one!

Now I can satisfy my craving for a salted caramel mocha for the next few days or until my husband eats them all!!

Peanut Butter Cup Chocolate Chip Cookies

Today I'm participating in a fun challenge hosted by Tina over at Moms Crazy Cooking.  Each month the challenge focuses on one feature food item.  This month it is chocolate chip cookies.
Photobucket
This fun challenge asks you to find a recipe from another blog, make it, and feature it.  I had so much fun looking for a fabulous new chocolate chip cookie recipe!

When I cam across Cook Bake & Decorate's recipe for peanut butter cookie cups I knew I had to make them for my husband.  This combines two of his favorite treats - chocolate chip cookies and Reece's peanut butter cups.

Cook Bake & Decorate's Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe:
  • 3/4 cup shortening
  • 1 1/4 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. Milk
  • 1 Tbsp. Vanilla
  • 1 whole egg
  • 1 3/4 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 3/4 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (I just dump in the whole bag)
Cream together the shortening and brown sugar till it is light and fluffy.  Beat in the milk, vanilla, and egg.  Next, stir in the flour, baking soda, and salt.  Stir till well combined.  Next slowly mix in the chocolate chips.

Spray mini-muffin tins with non-stick cooking spray.  Fill muffin cups with a spoon full of cookie dough.

Bake for 9-11 minutes. Remove from oven and immediately press one mini Reese's peanut butter cup into the center of each cookie.  Let cool in the pan for a few minutes, then remove and place on a wire rack to cool completely.
These were AMAZING!  And since my husband was coming home from his 6 week training course, it was the perfect little surprise for him.

Look at all the other fabulous chocolate chip recipes featured this month on the Crazy Cooking Challenge.  Don't they all look delicious?

We need your help voting for the best recipe.  "Like" your favorite recipe below and help us find the ultimate chocolate chip cookie recipe!
