This is one of those projects that just comes together and I never could have planned for it to turn out so easy.  The best part was I found all the materials around the house!

I’ve been planning to make a jewelry holder using an old picture frame for a few months but I couldn’t find a good place in my bedroom to hang it.  Then, I came across some fabulous Jewelry holders that Decor-ganize Crafts posted on her blog and I was inspired!  She created Pedestal Jewelry Holders and I realized that is exactly what I needed so I could keep it on my dreser.
I had to start looking for my materials.
I started rummaging through my craft closet to see what had.  I found an extra candle stick that I knew would make the perfect base.  Then, while looking through our tool box for a large screw to attach the candlestick to the frame, I found this weird bracket (my husband says that it’s a speaker bracket so I’m not sure what is holding our speaker to the wall in the living room).
After removing the top part of the candlestick, the bracket screwed perfectly into the candlestick.  This was total luck!!
I was then able to use small screws to attach the bracket to the side of the frame.
Before attaching the frame to the candlestick base, I attached the screen.  My neighbor had left over screen that I was able to use (she’s an awesome neighbor).  I used my staple gun to attach the screen
I screwed in hooks to the side and bottom for necklaces, bracelets and hoop earrings.

Finally, I spray painted it black.

I just love the way it turned out!  The best part was I had all the materials and I was able to reuse random stuff I already had into a fabulous new Pedestal Jewelry Holder.
Now I can keep my jewelry organized and display it neatly on my dresser.

I’m really surprised at how much it holds.  I think I might have to go and buy some new jewelry this weekend:)

  4. This is so cute! I love it and totally want to make one – love the candle holder so that it sits on your dresser rather than hanging from the wall (so that your earring hooks can end up poking into the wall… not that I tried this before or anything)! : )
