Meet the Descendants – Milkshake Movie Night

We are counting down the days until the new Disney Descendants movie comes on.  The movie premieres Friday, July 31 at 8:00 and we already have our DVR set to record it and we’ve invited all the neighbors to come over for a movie night.

Disney Descendants Milkshake Movie Night

In honor of the movie’s premier, we are making milkshakes to match our favorite villain.  I headed to my favorite aisle at Walmart – the ice cream aisle and picked up everything I needed for our milkshake movie night.

Disney Descendants Movie Night

Connor loves 101 Dalmations and Cruella De Vil so Connor will be enjoying a vanilla milkshake with chocolate chips while watching the movie.  He is also super excited that Luke from Jessie is playing Cruella De Vil’s son in the movie.  Look how the chocolate chips sink to the bottom – that’s what makes this milkshake so good!

Descendants Milkshakes 2

Hubby has decided that his favorite villain is the Evil Queen and wants a blue milkshake made with vanilla ice cream and blueberries.

Descendants Milkshakes 3

My favorite villain is Maleficent mostly because I loved that movie and I love the color of Mal’s hair in the movie:)  I will make myself a raspberry milkshake with raspberry ice cream and vanilla ice cream.  The picture does not do this milkshake the justice it deserves.  The combination of raspberry and vanilla ice cream makes this the best milkshake I’ve had in awhile.

Disney Descendants Movie Night

I can’t wait to relax Friday night with a milkshake in my hand while watching Descendants with all our neighborhood friends.  Friday night movie night is going to be so much fun!!  Everyone who comes over will be able to pick what kind of milkshake they want based on their favorite villain.

Walmart Ice Cream

So, get ready for the premier of Descendants this Friday, July 31.  Set your DVR’s now so you don’t forget!  And while you’re planning your movie night, head over to Walmart to pick up all your movie night essentials including ice cream.  Because you can’t watch a movie in the summer without ice cream:)  At least we can’t.

Who’s your favorite Disney villain?

School Supply Cake

I’m so excited about today’s project because I’ve been wanting to make a School Supply Cake for Connor’s teacher every since I first saw them on Pinterest.

School Supply Cake

I gathered a few essential school supplies that I know his teacher will need over the weekend while shopping at Target.  A teacher can always use pencils, crayons, glue and Clorox Disinfecting Wipes.  I can’t tell you how often I use Clorox wipes in my classroom to wipe off the the desks, tables, telephone, dry erase boards and so much more!

Want to make a simple School Supply Cake?  Here’s what you’ll need:

School Supply Cake Supplies

  • Clorox wipes
  • 5 packs of pencils
  • 5 glue sticks
  • 5 packs of crayons
  • 5 bottles of glue
  • ribbon
  • double sided tape
  • rubber bands
  • die cuts and skewers (optional)

School Supply Cake Step 1

Step 1 – Gather your supplies.  Start by placing a rubber band around the Clorox wipes container.  Carefully insert pencil packs around Clorox wipes.  I decided that I wanted my wipes to be a little higher up so I filled a small container full of candy.  What teacher doesn’t love chocolate?!

Step 2 – Carefully add another rubber band to bottom of pencils and slowly insert pencils and glue.

School Supply Cake Step 3

Step 3:  Add glue sticks and wrap ribbon around the school supply cake to cover the rubber bands.

School Supply Cake Final

Step 4:  You can totally stop at Step 3 and have a very nice teacher gift.  But, I had a few pencil and apple die cuts in my school supply bin so I decided to add them to the School Supply Cake.  I will probably add his teacher’s name once we get it in the mail but for now, I added these two.

That’s it!  Now, step back and admire your beautiful School Supply Cake.  Then, take a picture and post it to Instagram so all your friends can see how crafty you are:)

And remember – Clorox wipes are so great to have on hand and will make any teacher smile.  Clorox Disinfecting Wipes clean, disinfect, and kill 99.9% of germs including viruses that cause colds and the flu.  Not only are they great for cleaning your house but teachers can always use them to keep their classrooms clean and germ free.

So, the next time you’re shopping at Target, pick up a pack of Clorox Disinfecting Wipes for yourself and your child’s teacher.  Don’t forget to use Target’s Cartwheel app to save an extra 5% on your purchase of Clorox wipes.

Visit Clorox on Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, YouTube, Instagram for more information on all their products.

How have Clorox Disinfecting Wipes made your cleaning routine easier?
