Superhero Notebooks {Back to School Craft Idea}

It’s a little depressing for me when I see all the back to school supplies out since it’s a sad reminder that there will be an end to summer.  But, I’ve decided to get a head start on the school supply shopping this year instead of waiting until the last minute which is what I usually do.

mod podge notebooks

I was at Walmart over the weekend and picked up a few supplies.  Then, Connor and I found some awesome superhero scrapbook paper and I thought it would be fun to make Connor some cool superhero notebooks for school.

Supplies needed:

  • composition books
  • scrapbook paper
  • mod podge
  • paint brush
  • scissors

Directions:

Step 1:  Cut scrapbook paper down to cover notebook.  I left about an inch of paper around to make sure it covered the notebook completely.

Step 2:  Apply mod podge to notebook cover and back side of scrapbook paper.

Step 3:  Place scrapbook paper on notebook.  Smooth out to make sure it is even and there are no bubbles.

Step 4:  Apply a layer of mod podge over scrapbook paper and let dry.

Step 5:  Once dry, trim extra scrapbook from notebook and admire your cool new notebooks.

That’s it!  5 supplies needed and only 5 easy steps to make custom notebooks.

And while I was shopping at Walmart, I had a few essentials I needed to pick up – toilet paper and Kleenex.  Then I realized that I could also get a head start on collecting box tops for Connor’s school.  Definitely a win-win!

Meet the Descendants – Milkshake Movie Night

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser.  All opinions are mine alone.  #Disney #VillainDescendants #CollectiveBias

We are counting down the days until the new Disney Descendants movie comes on.  The movie premieres Friday, July 31 at 8:00 and we already have our DVR set to record it and we’ve invited all the neighbors to come over for a movie night.

Disney Descendants Milkshake Movie Night

In honor of the movie’s premier, we are making milkshakes to match our favorite villain.  I headed to my favorite aisle at Walmart – the ice cream aisle and picked up everything I needed for our milkshake movie night.

Disney Descendants Movie Night

Connor loves 101 Dalmations and Cruella De Vil so Connor will be enjoying a vanilla milkshake with chocolate chips while watching the movie.  He is also super excited that Luke from Jessie is playing Cruella De Vil’s son in the movie.  Look how the chocolate chips sink to the bottom – that’s what makes this milkshake so good!

Descendants Milkshakes 2

Hubby has decided that his favorite villain is the Evil Queen and wants a blue milkshake made with vanilla ice cream and blueberries.

Descendants Milkshakes 3

My favorite villain is Maleficent mostly because I loved that movie and I love the color of Mal’s hair in the movie:)  I will make myself a raspberry milkshake with raspberry ice cream and vanilla ice cream.  The picture does not do this milkshake the justice it deserves.  The combination of raspberry and vanilla ice cream makes this the best milkshake I’ve had in awhile.

Disney Descendants Movie Night

I can’t wait to relax Friday night with a milkshake in my hand while watching Descendants with all our neighborhood friends.  Friday night movie night is going to be so much fun!!  Everyone who comes over will be able to pick what kind of milkshake they want based on their favorite villain.

Walmart Ice Cream

So, get ready for the premier of Descendants this Friday, July 31.  Set your DVR’s now so you don’t forget!  And while you’re planning your movie night, head over to Walmart to pick up all your movie night essentials including ice cream.  Because you can’t watch a movie in the summer without ice cream:)  At least we can’t.

Who’s your favorite Disney villain?
